Neue Bewegungen braucht das Land! Denn wollen wir nicht alle Teil einer Kunstbewegung sein? Zumindest kann jetzt jeder schon einmal Kurator werden. Dank der Initative der Urban Curators: “Indem ein Akzent auf Orte gesetzt wird, die von Passanten meist ignoriert werden, wollen wir die Menschen dazu bringen, ihre Konzepte von Schönheit und ihre Wertvorstellungen zu überdenken.”

“The goal of the Urban Curators project is to engage the public in the celebration of the decaying urban environment, recognizing its inherent aesthetic qualities as well as the important role that it plays within our cultural habitat. Literally hanging gold, gallery-style frames in derelict spaces within the city, we are framing objects and views that are of aesthetic or cultural value. By utilizing frames that one might expect to find in an art museum or gallery, viewers are forced to make connections between the urban landscape and the museum environment.” (Mission Statement)

Also raus auf die Straße und Rahmen nicht vergessen. Denn jeder kann sich beteiligen: Einfach einen Ort, eine Stelle, ein Ding einrahmen, dann ein Foto davon machen und es an die Urban Curators mailen.
